DAY 1. On arrival at BANGKOK Airport you will be met and transferred to Your Bangkok Hotel. En route to the Hotel, your Guide will give you an introduction to Thailand and your Program. (Specific aspects of your Sightseeing, etc. can also be discussed with your Guide).
DAY 2. This morning we travel by Private boat through the Klongs (Canals) of Thonburi where we get an insight to why Bangkok was once known as "the Venice of the East", we also call in to see the Royal Barge Museum and Wat Arun (Temple of the Dawn). After lunch at a local restaurant we visit Bangkok's most revered site - The Grand Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha.
We can also visit Wat Pho, one of Bangkok's oldest and largest Temple complexes, among the many sites of interest here is the Viharn which is home to a 46 meter Reclining Buddha, before returning to the Hotel.
DAY 3. Leaving the Hotel early we drive South of Bangkok through the countryside passing Palm Plantations and Salt Fields to Damnoen Saduak, to visit Thailand's largest floating market. Here we travel by small boat around the quiet waterways and the bustle of the main floating market.
After looking around the market we drive back to Bangkok, taking lunch at a local restaurant en route. In the afternoon we can visit Jim Thompson's House, the classic Thai-style former home of a Pioneer of the Thai Silk Industry (to your interest, as time and energy permits!) before returning to the Hotel.
DAY 4. Today we have a trip to the Ancient Capital of Ayutthaya. We travel by road, North of Bangkok to Ayutthaya, here we visit the various Ruins and Temples of this Ancient Capital City (now designated a World Heritage Site), including the Wat Phra Si Sampet Ruins, Wat Rachabophit, and the Chao Sam Phraya National Museum.
After lunch at a local Restaurant, we then continue to Bang Pa-In, where we take a look around the Royal Summer Palace Gardens (The Palace is still used by the Thai Royal Family), after which return to Bangkok by road, and return to the Hotel.
DAY 5. Leaving the Hotel early (07.00am), we travel by road to Kanchanaburi District (about 2-3 hours drive), passing through the rural countryside. On arrival in Kanchanaburi town, we can visit the Thailand-Burma Railway Center, which is an interactive Museum housing artifacts and details of the construction of the Railway by Prisoners of war during the 2nd World War & the Allied Cemetery (to your interest). We then board the local train to take a ride across the infamous River Kwai Railway Bridge and along the River Kwai Valley.
After lunch at a local restaurant, we meet up with our vehicle and Visit the Hellfire Pass Memorial Museum and have a short walking trail (approx 40 Minutes) to the Konyu Cutting (the actual Name for the Hellfire Pass). On completion we drive back to Bangkok and return to your Hotel.
DAY 6. This morning we have a personal visit to the unique (and private) Prasart Museum with it's beautiful traditional design, extensive tropical gardens and unusual collection of classical Thai & Asian antiques. On completion we transfer to Bangkok Airport for your early afternoon flight to Chiangmai. On arrival at CHIANGMAI Airport we transfer to Your Chiangmai Hotel. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure in the Hotel.
DAY 7. This morning we can visit to Chiangmai’s most famous Temple, Wat Prathat Doi Suthep - Temple of the Mountain, situated on the hilltop, some 3000ft above the City. After lunch we can spend the afternoon visiting some of the various Traditional Local Handicrafts & Craft villages that Chiangmai is renowned for. Specific interests and details can be discussed with your Guides, but could include Silk Weaving; Teak-wood carving; Silver working; Laquerware production; Ceramics and a village community producing Sa-paper.
DAY 8. Day Trip to the Northern Young Elephant Training Center. After watching a demonstration of working Elephants we take an Elephant Ride through the "jungle". During the rest of the day we can also have a gentle trip down-river on a Bamboo Raft, we will stop for lunch at a local restaurant and visit the nearby Orchid & Botanical Gardens before returning to the Hotel.
DAY 9. Today we have a trip out into the Countryside and visit the Doi Inthanon National Park - named after Thailand's highest Mountain, which is located here. During the day we will drive to the summit of Doi Inthanon - over 8000 ft. high, where we can take a walk along a rainforest boardwalk, nature trail (Walking time about 30 minutes). We can visit the Twin Royal Pagodas that overlook this very scenic area, which were built to commemorate their Majesties the King & Queen of Thailand’s 60th Birthdays. From here we descend to a Meo Hill Tribe Village, under sponsorship of the Royal Project and we also visit the Vachiratarn Waterfalls before returning to the Hotel.
DAY 10. Today is at your leisure in the Resort - Possibly Cooking School or Spa Treatments, etc. or available for local sightseeing in and around Chiangmai (Again specific details, etc.. can be discussed with your Guide).
DAY 11. After Breakfast and check out from the resort, we transfer you to Chiangmai Airport for your onward flight.
